Presentation Formats

PRESENTING YOUR PAPER AT THE CONFERENCE

Authors can nominate their preferred presentation type upon submission of their paper. A variety of presentation formats are offered to support inclusivity and accommodate different needs. As some presentation types have limited capacity, final allocation will be determined by the Chair of the Scientific Committee and the CAUTHE Organising Committee and is subject to registration and availability.

All authors who have their submission accepted for presentation must register and pay for their attendance, at a minimum for the day of the Conference on which they are presenting. Accepted presenters will be given access to the Early Bird Registration rates.

Standard Presentations

This format is recommended for research with findings, as it allows for a more comprehensive presentation.

Standard Presentations provide a structured format to deliver an in-depth presentation, typically delivered via PowerPoint or equivalent medium, followed by a brief Q&A session. The presentations are scheduled during concurrent sessions aligned to paper themes and facilitated by a chairperson. Each Standard Presentation will be allocated 20 minutes each (15 minutes for the presentation with 5 minutes for questions).

Prepare your PowerPoint presentation in 16:9 aspect ratio and save your presentation file to a USB for uploading in the Speakers' Preparation Room on site. It is NOT necessary to send the file to Leishman Associates prior to the Conference.

Lightning Talks

This format is recommended for conceptual or viewpoint papers and early-stage research that does not yet have findings.

Inspired by UQ’s 3MT (Three Minute Thesis), this presentation type was first introduced at CAUTHE 2025. Lightning Talks aim to create a more interactive, dynamic and engaging discussion forum focused on key conference themes. Presenters will be asked to communicate the significance of their full paper or extended abstract in 5 minutes and use a maximum of 5 slides. A chairperson will be assigned to facilitate each session. Sessions will be capped at 8 presentations.

Poster Presentations

This format is recommended for ongoing projects or research that benefits from visual representation, such as data-driven studies.

This presentation type provides a dynamic and interactive platform to visually exhibit and communicate research via the medium of a printed poster. This format encourages informal discussions, allowing delegates to engage with presenters, exchange insights, and provide feedback. A formal poster session will be incorporated into the program most likely on day 2 or 3. Authors are responsible for printing and bringing

their posters to the conference.

Posters are to be A0 size (1189mm high x 841mm wide). These will be mounted on a display panel, (panel and poster fixing material will be provided).
